Dear Heritage Family and Friends,
The writer of Hebrews referred to a priest named Melchizedek as a pre-incarnate figure of Christ; a man who “resembled the Son of God.” The fact that Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek confirmed his godlikeness.
However, the priesthood of Melchizedek was for a time, and while he may have been the epitome of righteousness in his day, Jesus is the true King of Righteousness, who came to earth to bring peace through His sacrificial death and resurrection. Jesus is also “a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek,” but not through his lineage.

· The Abrahamic Covenant – Genesis 12:1-3 –
o Now the Lord had said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
· The Abrahamic Covenant Renewed – Genesis 13:14-17

o And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one. And there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited. And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
