Declaring War On God
By Bud Hancock
Introduction
Military treaties are entered into by nations and kingdoms in order to form unions that make them stronger against enemies and easier to defend when enemies attack them. These treaties are considered more or less sacred by the nations who accept and approve them. Their existence says to the world: We are confederate and will not allow an attack to go unanswered by any of our common enemies. If you attack our ally, we will attack you in return. An attack against one of us in the treaty is considered an attack against all of us in the treaty.
Beginning a War
How does one person, or one nation, declare war on another? Possibly the more important question is: WHY?
Not every war begins with a “formal declaration of war”; that eventually comes, but usually the shooting part of the war is preceded by a war of words, or possibly a small skirmish or number of skirmishes that can easily ignite a confrontation on a much larger scale. Of course, the official declaration would be the “humane” manner of letting another nation know that it is now a target of war. One might call it the “gentlemanly” way to go about it, but how many gentlemen are there now in governments and politics? That question answers itself quite well as everyone who truly understands politics knows.
It is more likely that a war in today’s world would be started by totally covert actions that are mostly unknown until the first bullets (think missiles) start flying. I guess the premise for such actions might be that the first nation to land a decisive blow would gain an advantage over the other. Of course the total insanity of any war premise is that both sides believe they can come out on top. With so many nations now possessing weapons of mass destruction, and many more doing their best to get them, any war might well be considered a tossup as to the outcome, and in reality, in a nuclear exchange between superpowers, there will be NO winner, only a world of losers. The question of emerging from a nuclear exchange would be one of survival, not victory.
There are, of course, only a few nations that are considered “superpowers’ with enough firepower to totally destroy every person on earth, and it would be foolish for a much lesser nation to even think about starting a war with them. Each of the nations that possess such weapons of mass destruction are constantly checking up on (think spying on) the others to determine just what their weapons arsenals DO contain.
There is a very famous quote by the Chinese military genius, Sun Tsu, that involves knowing your enemy: “……If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
Any nation entering a war with an unknown enemy, or one considered to be of greater strength has failed the SunTsu test. Historically, every nation or empire that has endured for long did so because they spent time studying and coming to know their enemies, and that involves not only knowing their strengths and weaknesses, militarily, but their motives for beginning a war and/or their willingness to risk becoming involved in one.
The Middle East Powder Keg
Contrary to the belief held by the “goat nations” of the world, the powder keg in the Middle East is NOT due to the presence of Israel there in her millennia-old, history-proven homeland; rather it is the very existence of Israel and the refusal of those surrounding Israel to accept not only her existence and her presence there, but their refusal to recognize and accept the God Who chose and selected Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to be the people from whom the Messiah, Jesus Christ, would come. He selected Jacob over Esau, to be the man whose twelve sons would form the twelve tribes of Israel and thus, the nation of Israel. God in His wisdom and sovereignty, made Israel and gave her that land for an eternal inheritance. The stubborn refusal of all those surrounding Israel to recognize the sovereignty, the power and the authority of Almighty God, and their eternal hatred for Israel, has created the igniting spark and possibly begun the prophetic lighting of, the Middle East powder keg.
God, Who sees all and knows all, carefully watches the actions of all the nations regarding their treatment of the Apple of His Eye, the Jewish people. In reference to the United States as a recognized ally of Israel and the nation that has signed a military alliance pact with the Jewish nation, ponder this: Those who enter into a military treaty with Israel, swearing to protect and support them, will be held accountable by God if they refuse to honor that treaty when Israel is attacked. We are currently watching the unfolding of a scenario that will test the United States, its government and its people in the event that actual military intervention of the US is needed and is withheld. God IS watching!
Wars and rumours of war were prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 24, and we are seeing those now throughout the world, and many of them are now, or soon will be, taking place in the Middle East as Satan works harder to destroy God’s chosen earthly people.
But there are other outcomes that will emerge from current events in the Middle East, outcomes that will have a profound effect on the entire world. Every possible event regarding the status of the Jewish people has been carefully planned in advance and will be the result of a fulfillment of all the Biblical prophecies.
The Lord Jesus is planning and arranging events that will force every person and every nation to decide where He stands in relationship to the Jewish people. All are now being given the opportunity to bless Abraham and support his offspring as they battle Satan’s barbaric hordes. However, when the last war is ended, that opportunity will likely be ended as well.
Contrary to the narrative put forth by the world media and accepted by most of the people in the world, the war now raging between Israel and Hamas is NOT the Iran-backed proxies and Israel’s neighbors warring against Israel, it IS the Iran-backed proxies and neighbors warring against God. The combatants who are trying to destroy Israel seem unaware of the covenant (treaty) that God made with Abraham when He clearly spoke His will in giving the land now ravaged by war to Abraham and his descendants for an eternal inheritance. However, the lack of knowledge of that treaty will not stand as an excuse for their actions against Israel.
In Genesis 12:1-3, God said, “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them (Gentiles and Gentile nations) that bless you and curse (utterly despise and destroy) him (Gentiles and Gentile nations) that curseth (disrespect, dishonor and revile) thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed”.
Entering A Spiritual War
Including the current wars being waged between Russia and Ukraine, and the newest one between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, I have watched the unfolding of many wars in my lifetime and have never been able to fully understand why any of them were started. But the most insane war would be the one between any man, and/or all mankind for that matter, and Almighty God. In some cases it is likely they do not believe God exists. This is a description of those who are carnally-minded, who have no spiritual discernment, and there are many such people among those who claim to be believers.
It stands to reason that when such foolish people decide to war against God, it is because they do not know Him, and hence they cannot be cognizant of the danger of going to war with Him. They also are ignorant of his strengths (He has NO weaknesses) so they cannot understand why going to war against Him is a very bad idea.
Many of the individuals and nations that have aligned themselves with the enemies of Israel can likely be divided into two camps; one camp might believe they will ride high on the spoils of war against the Apple of God’s Eye, as they have done in times past while reaping the rewards of providing intelligence and military aid to nations and terrorist groups that endangered Israel. The pockets of Israel’s enemies have historically been very deep, especially when they are being constantly refilled by many of the US administrations who seem to believe there will be no consequences of providing aid that endangers an ally by treaty. In some quarters, such actions would be considered treasonous, but the true situation now in the United States is that few in positions of power actually respect, let alone follow, our Constitution so they do not fear the consequences of their actions.
These are people who have lost, no, rather have thrown away, whatever moral compasses they had and now make their life decisions based on which foreign power or power broker, pays the best, rather than what is right, lawful, legal and moral. They are people who are completely carnally-minded, described by Paul in Romans 8:7, “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be”. The word “enmity” used by the Apostle Paul in Romans 8:7, is the Greek word “echthros” (Strong’s 2189, pronounced ekh-thros’, meaning hatred for, hostile toward, an adversary of), so these people have allowed their minds to be corrupted by greed and have made themselves enemies of God. As such, they have no remorse for their treasonous acts that place an ally in mortal danger, and continue to make war against the God of creation, the God of Israel and the God of all Christians. I can assure you and them, this will not end well for any of them.
If it is an act of complete foolishness to declare war on a nation that is obviously superior in military strength, how ludicrous is it to declare war on God? The only outcome for a person, a tribe or a nation who does so, is complete annihilation.
Blessings and Maranatha!

The world response to Israel is now becoming noticeably polarised – and I can see the day coming soon when all of us will be required to state whose side we’re on…and hopefully have the courage to say “the Lord’s side”.
Jesus Himself said that hatred against Him was…and still is…without reason. It’s a spiritual (demonic) hatred that grips the world…and the world doesn’t know and cannot understand. It can’t understand things spiritual.
Jesus said in John 15:25 -“This is why the Scriptures are true when they say, “People hated me (and by extension, Israel) for no reason.”
Amen Paul Thank you so much for your carefully considered response – Gibber ! Gibber! Chugley!
