Gibber! Gibber!

Pastor Wayne writes:
The Marxists philosophy of education says: “Give me your children for four years, and the seeds I plant will never be uprooted.” (Lenin)
Sadly, that is the philosophy of education to which our children are being exposed today. Part of President Obama’s plan to fundamentally transform America was to indoctrinate our children into a worldview that is totally contrary to the biblical principles upon which America was founded. He has succeeded.
However, a society cannot survive very long when its children and grandchildren are taught to hate the very things that made it successful. As Abraham Lincoln said years ago: “The philosophy of the classroom in this generation will be the philosophy of politics, government, and life in the next generation.”
The title of this sermon is: “Dare to be a Daniel,” a challenge to our students to remain faithful to God in the very challenging days ahead.
Thank YOU for forwarding these sermon study guides to others.

PASTOR WAYNE’S FURTHER HANDOUTS FOR SUNDAY, JULY 18, 2021
I have a layout below that makes for easy reading, hope you agree!
(Before you say you don’t feel like going to church on Sunday!)
Can you imagine never meeting another Christian?
WND guest Columnist Rita El-Mounayer
Right now, thousands of Christians across the Middle East – my native region – and North Africa are
completely cut off from other believers. Many have never been to church, don’t own a Bible and have
never even met another follower of Jesus. Can you imagine that? And now these believers face even
greater isolation because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
As CEO of Christian satellite television broadcaster SAT-7, I visited the North African country of
Morocco where I found small clusters of believers gathered around television sets, watching our
shows with local presenters speaking Arabic. They were riveted to the screen, hanging on every
word, with pen and paper in hand to take notes and jot down the words of the worship songs.
This was an emotional moment for me as I humbly witnessed how these broadcasts are truly a
lifeline for isolated believers in Morocco, and thousands more like them across this entire region,
home to less than 1% of the world’s Christians. Believers in the Western world are privileged to be
able to attend different churches and choose what time and place they go to worship. And while
many professing Christians in the U.S. and U.K. are leaving the church, believers in the Middle East
and North Africa are willing to sacrifice everything – even their own lives – to have fellowship with
other Christians whenever possible.
In Algeria, a nation where Christians often face hostility, I asked our local presenter: “Are you sure
you want to show your face to millions of people?” She replied: “Rita, what are you afraid of?
Suffering is a crown we wear every single day … don’t take it away from us. Yes, we’re ready to
show our faces.” Another time, when I was worried about their safety, one of our presenters looked at
me with a calm smile on his face: “Rita, don’t worry. … God is good all the time.”
Bolstered by such courage, our presenters press on because of the many isolated believers who have
no one else to encourage them. “It’s not easy to be a Christian in a country where everyone is a (non[1]
Christian) by default,” says SAT-7 presenter Samia in Algeria, where churches have been closed by
the government during the pandemic and believers fear they might never re-open. “Many believers
here feel lost,” she says. Their only connection now is through our live programs in Arabic and one[1]
on-one counseling via phone and social media chat.
One Algerian pastor puts it like this: “They’ve sealed our church doors, but they cannot seal the doors
of our hearts.” In Iran, where churches are banned and Christians meet in secret, confessing Jesus
publicly could be a death sentence. Yet one Iranian viewer prayed on air: “What would we do if we
did not have Jesus Christ?!” Young people in Iran are so open to Jesus right now. They’re asking,
“What is this message of the Gospel? And who is this Jesus?” Let’s hold our isolated brothers and
sisters in prayer – and fellowship with other believers in our own churches with a new spirit of
gratitude.
What on Earth is Going On?
by Jan Markell
July, 2021
Even the secular, unbelieving world is stunned at all that is happening in our collapsing world. Most
have no explanation for it. Some offer weak explanations that to the tuned-in and spiritually astute
are laughable. Even once-sound pulpits remain silent and perplexed. Political commentators suggest
that if we just elect their candidate, all will be rosy again someday soon. Their faith is in their
political party. Leftists promise that if we fix climate change and spread the wealth around, we will
achieve peace on earth. Outfits like the World Economic Forum suggest some day, if we follow their
formula, we will own nothing and be happy! How can society be happy under Godless Communism?
Here are my conclusions as to why we’re where we are in history. I am sure the list is much longer
than this but here goes:
Our times are perilous because God is trying to wake up and warn a sinful world. People don’t·
listen when life is smooth-sailing.
The Bible is fulfilling itself. It predicts perilous times (II Timothy 3); a Laodicea end-time·
church; a Romans 1 society at the end, characterized by depravity. Evil and violence will
escalate. The “birth pangs” will become intense and will be hard to watch and read about. We get
worn out seeing floods, fires, droughts, and hurricanes. But the Bible says these things must
happen.
God is warning because He always warns before He judges and the world is facing judgment. It·
is being judged now but far worse is coming during the Tribulation. This is just a warm-up.
There are terrible consequences when we don’t do things God’s way. Society will fail. The·
church will head into apostasy. But prideful mankind always thinks their way is best and
wreckage results.
God is specifically sending a message to His church. He is trying to shake us up, so that we will·
wake up and ultimately look up.
America and the world are now caught up in end-time strong delusion. That has serious
consequences. Delusion does not permit people to think rationally and to act reasonably. It does not
allow people to vote sensibly. The consequences are staggering. Many think that politics will be the
savior, or a particular political party. They just want to “make America great again” but minus God’s
oversight. God is letting us know that only “one nation under God” will ever function properly and
no nation can be great and Godless.
America showed God the door fifty years ago. That has consequences. His blessing and protection
may have left when we opened that door! God is allowing some pre-Tribulation birth pains on the
entire world. But what we see happening today is minor compared to what is coming. The Church
will be absent during that Tribulation time, so in the meantime, may we have a greater burden to save
people from the wrath to come. The consequences for a world that rejects Jesus Christ are
unthinkable. America and other Western powers have to fade as world influencers so that global
government can rise up and rule the world. As these nations diminish, keep in mind that this is
orchestrated by God for his end-time purposes.
Lastly, I think there is chaos on earth because Satan knows his time is short and he has ramped up his
activity. The closing days of the Church Age are a challenge for all mankind. Seize the moment. (Regarding the failure of public education) Remember when our grandparents, great[1]
grandparents, and such stated that they only had an 8th grade education? This is the eighth[1]
grade final exam from 1895 in Salina, KS, USA. It was taken from the original document on
file at the Smokey Valley Genealogical Society and Library in Salina, KS, and reprinted by the
Salina Journal. Could any of us have passed the 8th grade in 1895?

Apostasy in the Church: The Trail of Treachery
By Jim Fletcher
In his remarkable book, The New Evangelicalism, Paul Smith relates a fascinating story that lets us
in on the beginnings of what Spurgeon in England called the Downgrade, the falling away from the
faith by church leaders, primarily. At a meeting of anti-Christians in New York City in 1905, an
agenda was hatched: “On September 12, 1905, approximately one hundred people met in a loft over
Peck’s Restaurant at 140 Fulton Street in Lower Manhattan. The purpose of the meeting was to
carefully calculate the overthrow of the Christian worldview and replace it with the ideas of a then
rather unknown writer by the name of Karl Marx. They formed an organization called the
Intercollegiate Socialist Society.”
Among the attendees were the authors Upton Sinclair and Jack London, and famed attorney Clarence
Darrow. And remember, Darrow played a diabolical role 20 years later during the Scopes Monkey
Trial in Tennessee; there, evolution took the upper hand over biblical creation, in the minds of many.
It was a watershed moment. The Intercollegiate Socialist Society thus began infiltrating our
educational institutions with anti-American and anti-Christian ideas. It followed the same path
outright Soviet spies did, and the effects were devastating. Christian theology was attacked
mercilessly. Many don’t realize that it wasn’t just mainline churches that were affected. They
certainly were, but they had always maintained a degree of liberalism, as spiritual children of
Unitarians during the Colonial period.
Years later, theologian Karl Barth addressed a gathering at the University of Chicago. Among those
in attendance was future Fuller Seminary President Richard Mouw. Barth was asked about errors in
the Bible and he agreed that there were mistakes in the Bible. This was a pivotal moment, as future
seminary heads were influenced by this heretical thought. I’m trying to give you a picture for why we find ourselves in the present position in the Church,
and in wider American society. (Incidentally, Mouw began a softening of Israel support decades
ago; now the seminary routinely sends students to Israel/” Palestine,” where they hear the PLO line).
Eventually, this decades-long softening of theology and doctrine handed the baton to the
Church Growth Movement of the 1970s and 1980s. It is here in his book that Smith makes a very
insightful comment: “The new evangelical seminary trains men and women to take a traditional
church and mold it into a postmodern accommodating mindset that will reach a postmodern culture.”
This is primarily why we are in the place we are in today. Liberal theology of yesteryear,
mythologizing the Bible as the German Higher Critics had done in Europe a century before, marries a
postmodern “seeker friendly” American church. It is a recipe for religious disaster. It shipwrecks the
faith of many, as it is a “theology of despair” to quote Bob DeWaay.
To sum up, there are many reasons for the rampant biblical illiteracy in this country. From the
weekly clown show at Steven Furtick’s Elevation Church, to the mystical paganism of Brian
McLaren, to the excesses of the Word Faith Movement, we see one foundational commonality: a low
view of Scripture. Paul warned it would be a hallmark of the last days. Spurgeon lived right in the
middle of its aggressive attacks on the modern Church. It is why we are dealing with the mess of
lukewarm churches and churches that in effect operate as entertainment centers.

On the Power of Prayer
James Wiltshire – HBC Live Stream Viewer in England
When Paul tackles the relationship between the Church and the state, he looks at the question not on
the basis of atrocities committed, miscarriages of justice or bad law (he expects these) but on the
subject of prayer and the Church’s duty to pray for the government. Is Paul ducking the issue of
‘speaking out’?
Prayer, properly understood, isn’t just words: it is a whole language. When we use language in our
own tongue, we aren’t simply stringing words together. We’re using a symbolic code that conveys
deep meaning. The Prodigal Son finally pronounced words at the end he would never have felt able
to bring himself to use when he was at the height of his rebellion. ‘I will arise (renounce my present
lifestyle) and will go to my father (the one whom I have held in contempt) and will say unto him
(cast myself upon his mercy).’
It is this deep world of meaning that Paul enjoins the reader of 1 Timothy to engage in. In other
words, Paul is telling us to direct godly prayer at this level to God who has the power to ‘alter the
mind of kings. Believers like Samuel, Daniel, Nehemiah and others who stood between the
Authority on earth and God all knew the power of prayer. Such prayer needs time and a deep
understanding of both God and the world. It requires one’s mental and spiritual faculties to be
stretched to the uttermost in an attempt to understand how God sees a particular matter. Only then,
can the believer pray the mind of God.
To merely ‘speak out’ may be to rail emotionally; to pray the ‘effectual fervent prayer of a righteous
man’ is to both understand not only the situation but also to express the mind of God in a manner that
He will hear. Prayer for Authority isn’t ticking the government’s boxes. Far from it. It is taking the
government to account to God Himself for Him to judge. And ‘shall not the Judge of all the earth do,
right?’ This is Paul’s message to the Ephesian Church. And it’s his message to us today. ========================================================================
A personal note from James
Dear Wayne, I think that the Biden-Administration agenda will understandably alarm conservative
Americans, so I can understand that feelings will run high. Like you, I would counsel those who are
understandably concerned to pray – in the knowledge that God alone can change the heart of the
King. It’s difficult for us to predict how God brings His will about.
Take Brexit. Despite the best efforts of the EU, the BBC, the newspapers etc we got Brexit. And the
consternation here was palpable. The BBC was rocked visibly – not just at the result but at its own
failure to determine the result. Our contribution? Prayer. That was the church’s remit. Not the
politics. And the result will be life-changing in Britain’s history. Hope this example helps.

Part Two on the Power of Prayer
James Wiltshire – HBC Live Stream Viewer in England
“More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of. Wherefore, let thy voice
Rise like a fountain for me night and day.
Both for themselves and those who call them friend.
Bound by gold chains about the feet of God.”
Tennyson’s Morte d’Arthur
Today we stand on answers to prayers made in the past. Shall we fail to similarly protect the future?
At a recent meeting in London, two speakers spoke of powers that are striving to shape Britain in
their own image. The first was the BBC. The speaker had had a long association with the BBC. Led
by an essentially left-leaning Oxbridge elite, it has assumed the right not to inform opinion but to
form it. Formidable as this authority is, it was visibly shaken by the Brexit vote against which it had
campaigned so ardently for years. Was prayer the instrument that unseated the BBC, the papers, the
politicians and the multitude of voices fermented fear of the dire consequences of a Britain aside
from Europe?
The second speaker addressed the all-too familiar topic of Gender Ideology that appears to be
breaking through the Ardennes of the Western mind like an armed juggernaut. Its mantra: to defeat
the family and to do it by blitzkrieg. If the Ardennes of the Western mind is the residual godliness
from a by-gone age, this movement threatens to destroy it by cutting a narrow swathe through its
forest of traditional laws until it breaks out into the plains of ease, changing Biblical thinking forever.
But will it succeed?
The speaker referred to a pushback. Might we believe that the silent majority who, on the whole
abhor today’s trends, will rise up to say ‘Enough!’ It could happen. It did in 1940 and only today we
heard that an amendment tabled in support of extreme abortion was defeated. Was this politics or
was this prayer? In Tennyson’s ‘Ulysses’, the heroic man, aware of his failing powers, can, when his
sense of cause is strong, summon his might. “We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are, one equal temper of heroic hearts,
