Antiochus IV (175 B.C.E. – 164 B.C.E.):

• had indignation against ‘The Holy Covenant (Daniel 11:30b)
• had intelligence with Them That Forsake The Holy Covenant (Daniel 11:30c)
• corrupted by flattery Those That Did Wickedly Against The Covenant (Daniel 11:32).

For some time, Co-Co, The Coconut-Throwing Chimpanzee Schoolmaster, has been pondering upon the expression used in the above three verses – ‘The Holy Covenant’.

It is not The Covenant which THE LORD GOD made with Noah after The Flood:

‘And GOD spake unto Noah, and to His Sons with Him, saying, “And I, Behold, establish MY COVENANT with You, and with Your Seed after You; and every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of The Earth with You, from All That Go Out Of The Ark, to every Beast of The Earth. And I will establish MY COVENANT with You; neither shall All Flesh be cut off any more by The Waters of The Flood – neither shall there any more be a Flood to destroy The Earth.” (Genesis 9:8 – 11).

Covenants are accompanied by Signs which illustrate the nature of The Covenant. The sign which was given to assure Noah and his family that The Earth would never be destroyed again by a universal flood was The Rainbow.

“I do set MY BOW in The Cloud, and It shall be for a token [sign] of A COVENANT between ME and The Earth” (Genesis 9:13).

The HOLY COVENANT which Antiochus IV endeavoured to destroy, and corrupt, and which even today the world hates, is The Covenant with Abraham, The Father of The Jewish Nation.
