Consequences, or Benefits, of the Trump Trial and Conviction
Consequences, or Benefits, of the Trump Trial and Conviction
By Bud Hancock
We in the US, and indeed in the entire World, have just witnessed what may be the worst moment in the 248 year history of the United States of America, an event that is already sending ripples of concern around the World. What will be the final results of the trial and conviction of Donald Trump, an event that could have him facing more than 130 years in prison as a convicted felon?
There are many possible side effects of the recent conviction of President Donald J Trump resulting from a trial that was as biased as it was phony from the get-go. There was never one charge that was named as the “heinous crime” which demanded Trump be tried on non-evident felony charges, in spite of a lack of evidence that he did anything wrong.
Juan Merchan, the trial judge, a dyed in the wool Democrat and Biden supporter, broke way more laws in his judicial responsibilities related to the requirement to run a trial “by the book”, based on established protocol and legal precedent, than Trump has done in his entire 77 years.
Anyone who followed the reports coming from the courtroom understands just how absurd the trial was and is rightfully incensed about the overt and blatant lawfare conducted against a former US president. Could this high level of anger over what was an open display of political assassination bring acts of violence similar to what was seen after the BLM and Antifa riots that followed the George Floyd mess? That remains to be seen, but there are obvious differences between the cultural character of those who find the trial and conviction of Trump amusing, and those who truly understand what has now happened to the system of justice in the United States since the trial ended.
JUDGE JUAN MERCHAN
I personally believe the consequences or potential negative effects of this sham will go against the Democrats and their communist party. There are many people of voting age (and legality) from both major parties now in the US who are openly expressing their anger and distaste for those who perpetrated this persecution of Trump, both with their words and their checkbooks. Their actions in support of Trump have been so overwhelming that the amount of campaign funds flowing into the Trump campaign actually overloaded the WinRed website and shut it down temporarily. That fact alone should terrorize the Democrats campaign leaders and followers.
Besides that, the polling numbers for Trump have gone up by as much as 6% since the announcement of the verdict according to one reliable poll. If those polled, as well las those who are incensed by the sham trial, follow through with their votes, stealing the election by the Demosocialusts in November will be way harder than it was in 2020. These are only a few of the negatives Democrats will face as a result of their shameless glee over Trump’s persecution.
It is easy to see the potential benefits for Trump and his campaign; simply read the negative consequences listed above and apply the opposite to Trump and his campaign.
An appeal of Trump’s conviction will obviously be filed, if it has not already been filed and will likely go up to the Supreme Court of the United States, since the Appellate Court of the State of New York is more likely to unanimously vote for Trump than to overturn their glorious conviction of him. I predict the appeal will NOT spend much time at that NY state appellate court level but will rather quickly ascend to the SCOTUS.
So, what could possibly be the greatest benefit from this trial conviction? Knowing just how unfairly the trial was set up and conducted, being an obvious political witch hunt, no member of the Supreme Court of the US would dare uphold the conviction, would they? I mean, they are duty-bound to be unbiased (as was Judge Marchan) and neutral (as was Judge Marchan) and impartial (as was Judge Marchan) so they MUST consider the merits of the points upon which the conviction is being appealed and, in order to uphold the Rule of Law, they MUST negate the conviction; but will they? Being nine individuals (sort of) who all swore an oath to the US Constitution, theirs should be an easy decision, one based solely on the merits of the case and their vow to remain loyal to the Rule of Law in a non-political way.
If they actually do their duties and the conviction is overturned, the people of the United States might have reason to once again, believe that our country is redeemable. However, if they actually uphold the conviction, then every American MUST face the possibility that everything we have ever been taught about fairness, the rule of law, our God-given rights and the value of our beloved Constitution, have now become as useless as torn, dirty and worthless rags. If that occurs, is there even a small chance that the United States can survive?
That is the question that should haunt every American, whether Republican, Democrat, Independent or other, and should concern the friend and the foes of the US.
Based on a decision by the US Supreme Court, we may have the answer to it and, if the decision goes the wrong way, none of us will like what we will see as a result.
