CERTAIN & SURE
I thank God for Wayne Edward’s and his unwavering commitment to preaching the Word of God each week. This Sermon is another inspiring encouragement to look up, because your redemption draweth nigh. A perusal of the News Clips will reinforce this conviction, if you may be wavering in your conviction..

PASTOR WAYNE WRITES
Dear Heritage Family,
While the question is not original to me, it really sets the stage for our next sermon on the Assurance of our Eternal salvation. The question is: If you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?
· Would your family members, friends and co-workers testify to your claim to be a Christian?
· Would your bank statements reflect your financial support of the Church?
· Would your calendar of activities show your devotion to the Lord and your desire to get the whole gospel to the whole world?
· Would your choice of television programs, movies, magazines, and music reflect your commitment to love the Lord with all of your heart, soul, mind, and might?
We will explain this further in our Sunday, July 30th sermon, “Certain and Sure: The Outward Evidence of Our Eternal Assurance,” based on 1st John 5:1-21
If you view the sermon on our WEBSITE: www.theheritagechurch.org, you may click on the sermon title on the second page and find the sermon study guide in another format.
THANK YOU for forwarding these study guides to those you think might be interested in receiving them. We also appreciate your brief comments!!

PASTOR WAYNE’S NEWS CLIPS
Recently, Franklin Graham warned Christians to brace themselves for a “coming storm!” He said, “It feels like every demon in hell has been unleashed upon us, and we need to be prepared for it.”
I have witnessed the power of demonic activity in other people’s lives and I’ve sensed the spirit of demonic oppression in my own life. However, when it comes to the rise of evil activity in our day, let us not be too quick to say, as Flip Wilson declared, “The Devil made me do it!”
The Scriptures assure us while Satan can assault us, tempt us, slander us, and that he is constantly accusing us before God, a Christian who is indwelled by the Holy Spirit cannot be possessed by a demon, for “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty!” (2 Corinthians 3:17)
The rise of evil in our world today is not due to an increase in demonic activity (darkness) but rather to a decrease in the responsibility of the Church to hold fast to the truth, (Light) and to proclaim it.
In the last article in this week’s news handouts, Ethan Crumbley, the teenager who killed four of his classmates at Oxford High School in Detroit, Michigan, in November 2021 and injured six others, referred to himself as a demon, asserting, “There are no demons. I am the demon.” He wrote of battling internal demons, further fueling concerns about his deteriorating mental state. He indicated he wanted help to stop his negative feelings. “All one of my teachers has to do is send me to the office and I can get help,” Crumbley wrote. “One call can save a lot of lives. “My evil has fully taken over in me – I used to like it, but now I don’t want to be evil. I want help but my parents don’t listen to me so I can’t get any help. I feel like I’m in a tiny loop of sadness.” This young man was reaching out for help, but no one cared enough for him to respond to his cry, or perhaps they were afraid to confront him with the truth of God’s Word.
Beloved, the Church must never compromise with evil or with the truth of God’s Word. Jesus established the Church is the Pillar and Ground of truth, and to some degree, the silencing of the Church is accountable for the rise of evil in our world today.
Please forward these few articles to those who might be interested. Pastor Wayne
