Beyond the Crossroads: The Coming Destruction

Much has been said and written about “crossroads”. The word indicates a junction between two paths, usually at right angles to each other thus offering those who approach it several options on their destinations. Those options could be, 1) Continue straight through the intersection, or 2) turn left, 3) turn right, or 4) reverse course and return to the place from which you came. All very different choices with potentially very different outcomes.

Anyone who travels at all, even though only locally, understands what crossroads are and how they might affect one’s life. A wrong turn, either left or right, while the proper course is to continue straight, while heading to an important appointment might cause one to be late and suffer the consequences.
Individuals are not the only entities affected by approaching crossroads. Any organization can be affected especially when decisions made by them are contrary to their best interests. For example, financial institutions, such as hedge funds, responsible for the hundreds of billions of dollars they handle for investors, are constantly making decisions that can either increase their clients’ wealth or send them into bankruptcy. The key to any success, or longevity in their business is to be aware of the crossroads they are approaching and be ready to make the right decisions in time. Failure to do so can be catastrophic and possibly cause a status from which there is no recovery.

When God sent Moses back to Egypt to free the Jewish people from slavery, there were many nations residing in the land that God had promised to Abraham nearly four hundred years earlier. These were the tribes living in the “Land of Canaan”, and although there were multiple tribes with different names, they all were generally known as the Canaanites.

Long before God chose Moses to return to Egypt to demand that Pharaoh release the Jewish people from their slavery and allow them to return to the land God had already sworn to give them, His mind concerning the Canaanite tribes living in the land promised to Abraham was made up and their fate had already been determined; their fate was a part of the curse Noah had placed on Canaan, the son of Ham, and grandson of Noah, for his act of uncovering (literally “viewing”) Noah’s nakedness in his tent sometime after the Flood of Noah had subsided. The act of Ham was considered an awful sign of disrespect, deserving of a serious punishment.

God’s plan was for the sons of Shem, namely the twelve tribes of Israel, the offspring of Jacob, to invade and capture all the land that God had given to them. This plan was to be the fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham in Genesis 15. God Himself sealed that promise with blood and formed a covenant with Abraham, thereby guaranteeing that His promise would NEVER be rescinded and subsequently placing the responsibility for the fulfillment of the promise, not on any man, but on God, and Him alone. While this means that God definitely WILL fulfill His promise to Abraham, it does NOT mean that He will tolerate any interference from ANY man, or nation, in any attempt to subvert that promise.

Through multiple prophecies given by God through Zechariah, Joel, Amos, Obadiah and others, including Jesus Christ, God made it clear what would happen to those nations that ignore His will for Israel and attempt to take the land that He promised to Israel. He was especially adamant about any attempt to divide Jerusalem. Throughout history, many nations that ignored God’s edicts and sought to harm Israel were consequently judged and destroyed. One would think the historical facts of their destruction would be enough to cause all nations to think carefully before making any such attempts to harm the “Apple of God’s Eye”, but that seems NOT to be the case. In fact, the “Gentile nations” are now doubling down on their interference, ignoring God’s commands and actively working, somewhat in concert, to totally destroy Israel.

At this very moment, three of the most prominent nations of the West, the UK, France and Canada, have announced their plan to “recognize” a Palestinian state that would include most of Judea and Samaria, with East Jerusalem as the capitol, when the UN General Assembly convenes on September 8, 2025. If a “Palestinian state” is so important to them, perhaps they should provide the necessary property in their OWN nations, along with the necessary travel funds to relocate the Palestinians there. I guarantee that suggestion would result in …..crickets.

It is amazing that all the bleeding heart Palestinian lovers all want the ONLY nation on Earth that was given the title deed to the land promised to them by Jehovah God, to provide a state WITHIN their eternally promised homeland for the Palestinians. What utter hubris!

These three are among multiple nations, all who are members of the United Nations, that have now decided they are authorized to determine who will control the land given to Israel. In all, more than 60 heads of State from United Nations member nations have sided with the three mentioned, including Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, Finland and Luxembourg and many others. They are demanding that Israel begin an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and agree to a “Two State Solution” by giving some of their land for that two state solution to the Palestinians, with East Jerusalem as its capitol.

I am reminded of a scripture that seems so a propos to this ludicrous “two state solution” madness:
“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure” Psalm 2:1-5. In case you were unaware of the meaning of “derision”, it is this:

“Derision is a term that refers to the act of ridiculing or laughing at someone or something, or an object of mockery or scorn”.

The words, “speak unto them in His wrath”, and “vex them in His sore displeasure” are indications of impending judgment that should get the world’s attention.

In the scripture given above, it indicates that, when mere mortal men attempt to override a decision made by God, He simply laughs at, ridicules, scorns and mocks their stupidity.

In their deluded, puffed-up state, these heathen nations, thinking so highly of themselves, have now decided to call God’s bluff and force what they perceive as a “solution” on God and His chosen Earthly people. In their hubris, they are ignorant that the “solution” has already been given, and it does NOT include giving any Jewish land to the Palestinians.

What they fail to understand is that GOD DOES NOT BLUFF; He doesn’t need to, after all He is GOD and His decisions are final. But, in the case of nations trying to determine who controls Israel’s land, does God’s “derision, scorn and mockery” go farther than the dictionary description?

Consider the words of Zechariah 12:3, “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it”.

In many translations of the Old Testament, the translators use words like “will injure themselves severely” (New American Standard Bible), “shall be sore wounded” (American Standard Version), “will surely hurt themselves” (English Standard Version). Such translations tend to reduce the severity of the results of burdening themselves with Jerusalem.

In the original Hebrew, the word translated “cut in pieces” is the Hebrew word “sarat” (Strong’s 8295, pronounced saw-rat’), and it means literally, to lacerate, to “gash”, “to make pieces of by cutting”. One can see then that the original meaning in the Book of Zechariah entails the possibility of being so severely lacerated as to be literally cut into pieces. This is NOT an injury that someone does to themselves, but an injury resulting from an attack by a superior force. I suppose these translators may have felt the need to use considerable latitude when translating a word with such a powerful meaning. Since God’s covenant people were forbidden to cut (lacerate) themselves as the heathen often did in their pagan rites (Leviticus 21:5), that word used in Zechariah 12:3 is describing, NOT what injuries the heathen nations might do to themselves, but what injuries God Almighty will do TO THEM, as an act of divine judgment when they cross His red line, and continue “beyond the crossroads” into the territory of eternal danger. All this raises the question: Have they already gone too far to turn around and reconsider their paths?

What these nations of fools are actually doing is placing themselves, along with their people, the people who look to them for leadership, for security and safety, in God’s crosshairs, almost assuring that they will soon be severely judged, sentenced and punished for their foolishness.

What all Christians now need to understand is that we are truly in the last days, and any scripture detailing the events of those days MUST be read carefully and applied to their lives, as well as to the lives of the unrepentant heathen nations, the ones who have decided that they are more powerful than God.
We are watching, right now in real time, the nations deciding their eternal future and destiny based on their interactions with, and actions against, Israel. For many centuries God tolerated these actions, sometimes using them to discipline His wayward people, while at other times judging those that harmed Israel. We are now so close to the beginning of Jacob’s Trouble, Daniel’s 70th Week, that God Himself will soon step in and commence the final judgment of the Jewish people, by HIM ALONE, and that precludes all the Gentile, heathen nations from assuming that they can also judge the Jewish people. Neither should they assume that God is too busy to make good on His promise to “cut in pieces” all those that burden themselves with the land promised to Israel.

Throughout human history, nations have tried to prove that they were stronger, smarter and more capable than God. Those futile attempts spelled the end of many tribes, kingdoms and empires. If only those current political leaders who consider themselves so smart would acknowledge the existence of an all-powerful, all-knowing and ever-present God, they might have a chance to save their nations from God’s judgment, but human nature being what it is, they seem determined to continue on the path to destruction, racing through the crossroads, at breakneck speed, ignoring the warning signs that God placed, not only at the entrance to the final crossroad, but all along the route, warning them of the danger of interfering in the plan God has always had for His chosen Earthly people.

Unfortunately, their failure to recognize God and His sovereignty, especially over the Jewish nation, Israel, will ultimately result in their own destruction.

Just as the shameless French idiot, Macron, stated that his government will “recognize” a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly on September 8, other western nations are now joining this madness. The article linked states Australia’s intent to follow the lead of Macron, Starmer, Carney and many other ungodly, foolish national leaders. What amazes me is that all these fools demand that Israel give up part of their tiny strip of land for this “imaginary state”. While it might crowd France a little to invite all the Palestinians to come and make their state in the South of France (give them the French Riviera, for instance), I’m sure there is plenty of room in Australia, say out in the middle of the Never Never, or in the far northwest of Canada where the winter temperature reaches a cool -65 degrees Fahrenheit.  

I am now becoming more and more aware of just how tired God is of this parade of fools trying to tell Him what they have decided to do with the land that He promised to the offspring of Abraham. What unbelievable chutzpah! What all these morons will soon witness is NOT a Palestinian state, but the furious anger of a righteous God.
