In his book, “The Problem of Pain,” C.S. Lewis wrote: “The lost enjoy forever the horrible freedom they demanded and are therefore self-enslaved.”

In Romans 1:24ff, the Apostle Paul put it this way: God gives [the lost] up to their choices and the consequences of those choices.

Beloved, as the Scriptures illustrate and secular history confirms, there comes a time when God simply removes His restraining grace, and He allows the evil intentions of man’s heart to surface. We will explain this further in our second sermon in this new series – “Confessing Christ in an Antichristian Culture.” The title of this sermon is: “When God Abandons A People.”

PASTOR WAYNE WRITES

In the introduction to his book, “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse,” Dr. Billy Graham said, “The shadows of all four horsemen can already be seen galloping throughout the world at this moment.” Remember, that was in 1983, and a lot has happened in the last 39-years. If Dr. Graham could update his comments, perhaps he would say, “We are so close to the beginning of the Tribulation, not only can we hear the hoofbeats of the four horsemen, we can hear their horses snorting!”

Like many of you, seeing what is, and what isn’t happening in the world today, I’m surprised we are still here. In fact, according to the prophecy watchers in whom I trust, there is not one prophetic event that MUST occur before the rapture of the Church. Look at this list:

·        Rebirth of national Israel—check

·        Revived Roman Empire—check

·        Wars and rumors of war—check

·        Earthquakes, pestilences, famines—check

·        Deception and false messiahs—check

·        Global Digital Currency—check

·        Antichrist candidates lining up—check

·        Global desire for a one-world-government—check

·        Technology to enforce worldwide surveillance—check

·        Gog and Magog lining up—check

·        Lawlessness and the love of many grown cold—check

·        Global wickedness and the normalization of perversion—check

Many years ago, a country preacher signed off his daily radio broadcast with this encouraging warning: “Keep looking up! This may be our golden daybreak.” I’ve shortened it a bit to say: “Chin up, knees down!”
